The A-B-DC Project

Recently, a group of friends in New York City made it their mission to visit one bar beginning with each letter of the alphabet. From A to Z, they sipped and socialized their way through Manhattan over the course of a year. They got the idea from a group in Boston.

After discovering this story in the New York Times, I thought, “why not try this in DC?” Sure, there are far fewer pubs, taverns, and bars in our fair city than the Big Apple, but after a little Google session, I discovered that there are bars in DC with names beginning with almost every letter of the alphabet. So why not make this a project to explore the neighborhoods and establishments of the District while meeting new people? And who doesn’t want one more excuse to go to happy hour in this town? Plus, it’s vaguely academic, no?

This is the A-B-DC Project. We’ll be visiting a different DC watering hole about every other week, and making our way straight through the alphabet from A to Z. Won’t you join us? Here’s where we’ll be for A-B-C:
